The Radisson Blu Plaza Sydney is a 364 room, five star classic hotel located in the financial and dining hub of the northern CBD. We underwent a refurbishment of all rooms recently and enjoy high levels of repeat clientele who enjoy our personalised customer service. We're located between Sydney's best shopping and Circular Quay with many major corporate offices close by.




The role

Our talented kitchen brigade covers all areas of food preparation - Lady Fairfax Room, The Fax Bar, In-Room Dining, Business Class Lounge and Conference & Events.

Radisson Blu Plaza Sydney is known for the extensive High Tea menu - the menu includes a vegan and gluten free option. Therefor preparing and serving High Teas will be a large part of your role. You will also assist with the preparation and service of morning/ afternoon teas for events and our Business Class Lounge and desserts for In-room Dining.

You will spend most of your time (24 - 30 hours per week) in the Pastry Kitchen, however you will also assist your colleagues in the Banquet, In-Room Dining and Breakfast kitchen.




About you

This role requires a team player who is willing to work closely with the small team, maintain the hotel's high standards, and ensure that the policies of the hotel and kitchen - including Work Health & Safety and Responsible Business practices - are adhered to at all times.

To be successful in this role you will require:

  • Ability to receive direction
  • Exceptional time management skills and being able to work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills in the English language.
  • Previous experience in hotels or restaurants
  • A completed Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
  • Passion for all desserts including vegan and gluten free
  • Must be available to work on weekends

Support

You will be supported by our experience Head Pastry Chef and Executive Sous Chef. As part of your training you will attend our 1.5 day Orientation program. After passing your 90 day training period you will be invited to experience a complimentary guest stay.
