We are seeking qualified and experienced chefs who has extensive exposure to cooking and leading teams within a fast pace kitchen environment. You will join our production team based in Darwin. As an experience chef in the production team you will work alongside industry experts delivering the highest levels of quality and culinary excellence to our discerning airline customers.
The day in the life of our Chef will include but not be limited to:
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of programs to ensure high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen.
- Prepare and present menu items consistent with the menu requirement, within the cost margins specified.
- Assist the Production Manager with menu preparation and ensuring adequate supplies are available for expected service.
- Liaise with Stores employees regarding the availability of menu items, additions to the menu and any relevant changes.
- Maintain excellent presentation standards and cost control, whilst maintaining recipe standards.
To be considered for the position, you must possess the following:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Trade qualifications
- Excellent technical knowledge with experience in all cooking techniques and styles
- Experience leading staff
- Advanced communication skills
- Ability to maintain high and consistent standards
- Excellent organisational skills & grooming standards
- Understanding of and the ability to maintain food safety standards and HACCP
All our Chefs will undergo training around food safety and HACCP.
Hourly Pay Rates: Week days $32.49, Saturdays - $40.62, Sundays - $52.22 (all rates are inclusive of casual loading)
