Full time Indian Chef required:
Based in Lorne, Victoria
Must have a Diploma of Hospitality. At least 2 years relevant experience is required.
• Must have extensive knowledge/experience of the ingredients required in preparing Indian cuisines.
• Knowledge of the cultural background and the origination of dishes served are required.
• Keep food preparation at the right level
• Monitor food production to ensure consistent quality and portion size
• Ensure that quality dishes are served on schedule
• Approve all prepared food items that leave kitchen.
• Modify and create new menus as needed so that they remain effective for the purposes for the restaurant.
• Ensure the kitchen team works together to get all the orders right and get them out promptly.
• Help with recruitment of kitchen staff including cooks.
• Ensure any problems that arise in the Kitchen are rectified and reported to Management
• Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
Preference will be given to applicants with Permanent Residence or Citizenship status.
