Role Overview
The Novita therapist will work alongside a supportive and collaborative team in a multi-disciplinary service for children, youth and young adults with physical disability, autism, acquired brain injuries, and other developmental disorders.
The role will involve working with clients and their caregivers through assessment and interventions that can occur in the environment in which they live, learn, play and work.
Working in clinical or community settings you will support each child or young person to reach their full potential and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Involvement and encouragement of planning and provisions of a responsive client and family-centered approach
- Provide a professional standard of care including hands on therapy and advice on the management of a broad range of musculo skeletal and neurodevelopmental conditions, hydrotherapy experience would be an advantage
- Manage a clinical caseload involving the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of an appropriate management program
- Assessing and prescribing equipment or assistive technology where needed
- Support and contribute to the development of NDIS plans
- Facilitate liaison and support between families, relevant professionals, community and education services
- Assist in preparing children for their next educational environment and provide support to other educators and families as needed
- Work with key stakeholders across the business to achieve outcomes for clients
- Be commitment to continuing your professional development
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Graduate qualifications in Physiotherapy
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field highly desirable
- Registration with the appropriate profession board (AHPRA)Proven experience in developing, applying and modifying intervention plans to meet the needs of individual clients
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Experience in hydrotherapy would be an advantage
- Impeccable communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and their families
- Demonstrate a strong ethical compass and align to the values of Novita Health
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills including competency in relevant computing requirements
- Current DCSI clearance for Child-Related Employment Screening is essential
