About the Business
Our large, modern establishment is in the heart of Wantirna, with private car parking available. Doctor owned and operated, we have 9 consulting rooms and 4 treatment areas, all fully furnished and maintained by our supportive doctor-centric reception staff and led by our Practice Manager. Our centre is fully computerised, Our services include onsite Allied Health professionals including a physiotherapist, podiatrist, speech therapist, hand therapists, audiometrists and dietitians.
We have a calm and respectful attitude within our practice, with trusting and helpful relationships between both the health care professionals and the administration staff. We’re not just a ‘Family Clinic’, we believe our team of staff are also considered family. Therefore, we can offer the highest standard of service towards our patients, with positive experiences.
About the Role
This role will be a combined nursing and administrative role.
Variable hours available. Flexible.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide quality nursing services - triage, first aid, wound management, vaccinations, perform ECG's.
- Assist with procedures in skin cancer clinic
- Contribute to illness prevention and health promotion with chronic disease management, recalls, patient education.
- Assist in the practice operation with compliance and accreditation.
- Answer the telephone in a courteous and professional manner
- Receive and convey messages in writing, verbally and electronically
- Make appointments
- Bill patients and receipt moneys
- Fax/Scan/File documents
- Enter data as required with a high level of accuracy
- Clean consulting and treatment rooms in between sessions and contribute equitably to maintaining the cleanliness of the practice
- Liaise with GP's, other health professionals and their staff
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
- AHPRA Registered
- CPR & First Aid Certificates
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Experience with CDM, Immunisations and minor surgery
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Windows operating system
- Able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Proficient in use of keyboard/computer
- Ability to maintain high levels of professionalism and confidentiality
- Work rights in Australia or be eligible for such
Desirable
- Knowledge of medical software
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Competence in the use of relevant equipment
- Training or experience in Medicare item numbers and health funds
Successful applicant will require a satisfactory Police Check.
