Laverty Pathology is a leading provider of pathology and medical diagnostic services to doctors, specialists and hospitals throughout New South Wales (NSW) and the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). We also provide medical diagnostic services to commercial and government organisations across Australia and internationally.

Laverty Pathology is currently seeking a Courier Coordinator to manage our busy Illawarra, South Coast and Southern Highlands courier team. Our couriers make a significant contribution to Laverty Pathology and act as ambassadors of the business, providing our quality service directly to our clients.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, your key responsibilities will be:

• Organise rosters and manage day to day operations of the courier car fleet and personnel, including organising car servicing and maintenance, performance management and mentoring of personnel

• To familiarise yourself with our customers and the local geography to best arrange efficient courier routes

• Manage courier enquiries occasionally outside of your normal business hours. A mobile phone and Laptop will be provided

• Intermediate computer skills required to access and assess mobile courier car tracking and to produce documents and memos

• To train new staff and conduct twice yearly staff performance appraisals

• Committed to undertake internal WHS training and to oversee employee safety, incident/hazard reporting and completing Monthly WHS progress reports on time

• Occasionally perform courier duties requiring you to drive throughout the Illawarra, South Coast and Southern Highlands Regions and Southern Sydney regions to pick up specimens from our clients and deliver them to our laboratories, in a safe, efficient and timely manner

To be considered for this role you must possess:

• A current Driver’s Licence, and have a good driving record (a copy of which will need to be provided at interview)

• Good knowledge of, and confidence to drive in Illawarra, South Coast and Southern Highlands and Southern Sydney regions on occasion.

• Sound technical skills, including the ability to operate GPS systems

• Be able to work in a flexible manner to cover some shifts as required, during temporary staffing shortages (annual leave, sick leave etc.).

• Sound organisational and time management skills

• The ability to work under pressure and to meet goals as part of a team

• Sharing the company’s vision, cultures and values through the respect for all.

• Previous logistical experience in a similar roles would be highly desirable, but not essential as training can be provided.
