The Organisation

John Paul Village is a residential aged care facility and retirement village located at Heathcote. John Paul Village offers 166 Independent Living Units, 171 residential beds and home care services. Our aim is to provide a happy and secure environment and respond to individual needs by developing specialised and innovative support and care services which promote a sense of community, choice, dignity, independence and quality of life.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Care Services, the role of Registered Nurse is responsible for providing the highest standard of clinical care to our residents in accordance with policy, procedure in clinical practice, documentation and assessments.

We currently have available morning, afternoon and night shifts on a permanent part-time basis.

As a Registered Nurse you will be responsible for the following:

  • Assess, plan and evaluate individualresident care in accordance with policy and protocols.
  • Maintain clinical documentation for assigned residents, in accordance with policy.
  • Participate in family case conferences in accordance with protocol.
  • Delegate care delivery to members of the health care team to facilitate achievement of desired outcomes for residents.
  • Monitor and supervise care staff.
  • Carry out clinical assessments for ACFI.

Key Requirements

The Registered Nurse will ideally possess the following knowledge, experience and qualifications:

  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • A passion for aged care nursing.
  • At least 2 years experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Excellent clinical skills
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Genuine respect and a caring attitude with aged people.
  • Highly effective verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem solving and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to best practice and continuous improvement.
