An exciting opportunity currently exists for a Pastoral Care Associate to join St Vincent’s Care Services across our facilities at Arundel and Southport; we are looking for a compassionate, spiritual and professional person to work with the Facility Manager and care team to respond effectively to the diverse emotional, spiritual and religious needs of our residents, and their families and you will represent the mission of SVCS and the legacy of Mary Aikenhead. This role is a permanent part time role, 4 days per fortnight - one day per week at each facility.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate:
- A mature, confident personality;
- Attainment or progress towards a Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) qualification and/ or studies in Theology/Religious Education, Counselling/Psychology;
- Relevant experience in a similar pastoral or counselling capacity (highly regarded);
- Respect and sensitivity in ministry to persons of various religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, Life Philosophies and Faith Traditions;
- The ability to work with minimum supervision;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
