The role:
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Director of Rural and Remote Adult Mental Health, this position will attract an experienced, passionate, energetic and innovative Leader who has a record of excellence in Leadership and Management. You will be responsible for the clinical leadership and governance of the clinical services and activities at the Rural and Remote Mental Health Service.
This pivotal role provides an exciting opportunity for a Staff Specialist with Fellowship to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists with a proven ability to show responsibility and accountability for exceptional service provision across district.
The Hospital:
This progressive mental health service integrates Acute and Community Services, including Adult Mental Health Service, Child and Youth Mental Health Service, Older Persons Mental Health Service, Triage and Acute Care Team, Mobile Intensive Rehabilitation Team and the Acute Mental Health Unit and Extended Inpatient Service.
Location:
Just 90 minutes from Brisbane, this is a modern city with access to all major services and facilities. There is plenty to see and do - take advantage of the many galleries, heritage exhibitions, museums, restaurants, and a great range of shopping centres around the city.
It has a temperate climate and is one of the few regions in Queensland with four distinct seasons. The education, training and tertiary sectors are well catered for, with both private and public schools, vocational training providers and 2 universities in the region. There is also a wide variety of sporting options available for all ages.

Skills/Qualifications:
• Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent qualification as recognised by the College; and be able to be registered as a Specialist in Psychiatry with AHPRA.
• Broad experience in Rural and Remote psychiatry.
• This position is appointed to the Division of Mental Health and may be required to work from a number of service sites. The position will also be required to participate in the Consultant Psychiatrists' rostered on-call duties approximately 1 in 10 or less frequent.
• Knowledge of current national and state mental health policies and plans, legislation and standards, with respect to provision of contemporary mental health care, including the Queensland Mental Health Act 2016 would be an advantage. The position will be required to undertake roles and functions in accordance with the Mental Health Act 2016 as delegated.
