The Clinical Care Manager will be responsible for assisting the Residential Manager and the Executive Director with the management of all aspects of the home, to ensure the leadership, overall direction, coordination and efficient management of the clinical environment in accordance with Goondee Care Home’s Vision and Values. Specifically, the Clinical Care Manager is responsible for assisting with:

  • Ensuring the highest outcomes in the standard of resident care;
  • Optimising funding through documented Clinical Care
  • Maintaining the home within budgetary limitations;
  • Within each Aged Care Home activity, ensuring services promote optimal, qualitative outcomes;
  • Participate in the development and implementation of all policies and education program in relation to the provision of clinical care;

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse (Division 1) with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with current practising certificate to be presented annually
  • Tertiary qualifications in Geriatric Nursing and/or Dementia Care, or demonstrated experience in that field
  • Related tertiary qualifications in Management and/or demonstrated competencies in that field, with additional competencies including multi-skilling in to other streams within the Aged Care environment.
  • A clear understanding of and personal commitment to the Mission and Values of the Home.
  • Capable of leading by example and being a role model to all staff in living these Values.
  • Capacity to provide clinical leadership in a complex environment.
  • High level competencies in the provision of Nursing and clinical skills within an ageing in place environment.
  • Demonstrated competence in: Leadership; Continuous Quality Improvement; Human Resources; Time Management; Education; External Relations; and Service Provision.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive high level knowledge of the Health and Aged Care Sectors including funding and policy protocols, accreditation and industrial legislation.
  • Comprehensive experience in coordinating a flexible, multi-skilled team environment with advanced interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively promote the desired culture of The Home across the team by ensuring all interactions, documentation and communication is conducted in a manner which supports the stated Mission and Values.
  • To be aware of, and adhere to the Statutory Regulations, The Home's Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct and Philosophy of Care.
  • Observe confidentiality relating to residents, their records and organisational matters at all times.
  • Executive Director in providing leadership, direction and coordination of staff in relation to: professional aspects of nursing and care services, education, staff development, projects/research, patient management systems, information systems, infection control, quality control and improvement.
  • Advise and provide direction to staff on the application and implementation of policies, procedures and other information associated with Resident care.
  • Ensure that the Home is operated in accordance with the legal and ethical requirements of the appropriate Health and Aged Care regulatory bodies.
  • Support the Executive Director in ensuring cost centre budgets are being managed correctly and that such cost centres are being operated within parameters of the relevant cost centre budget(s).
  • Ensure that quality Resident care standards are maintained throughout the home and co-ordinate quality improvement plans, activities and reporting.
  • Assist the Executive Director to, plan, evaluate and ensure that appropriate quality programs are implemented, in accordance with the organisation’s Continuous Quality Improvement Program.
  • Develop plans, provide co-ordination on Nursing Home staff development, training and quality improvement.
  • Ensure requirements of the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act (NSW) (1998) in relation to patient information are upheld.
