Team Leader - Deceased Persons Transport (Coroners)

St John Ambulance Australia (VIC) has served the community for over 135 years. With continued success through 2018, this important contract with the Coroners (Court Services Victoria) requires us to provide a flexible level of service, with both metropolitan and regional repatriation cases. We are currently seeking a Team Leader for our Deceased Persons Transport team to train, coach, and guide our team utilising your team development experience and professionalism.
 
Responsibilities
With a strong level of personal resilience, you will demonstrate a strong team focused orientation as well as a high level of respectfulness and professionalism in line with our organisation's quality standard. Performing as both a team leader and a crew member, you will be required to promote workplace safety and respect, demonstrate people leadership, and play an ongoing role in support of a "zero harm" working environment.

Essential skills and attributes (Selection Criteria)

• Experience working in the funeral or related industry that has had exposure to deceased persons
• Experience working in a people leadership, training and mentoring position
• Demonstrates sound verbal and interpersonal skills, organisational and time management skills
• Attention to detail with the ability to follow direction and deceased transport protocols
• Experience promoting a safe work culture, conducting training and field assessments
• Demonstrates aptitude to work as a collaborative team member across a varied and diverse workload and shift types
• Demonstrates strong customer service orientation

Essential qualifications, memberships and licences

• Current Victorian Driver Licence with evidence of safe driving record.
• Able to provide evidence (or preparedness to gain) current and updated vaccinations, including Hep B, Influenza, MMR, Whooping Cough (Pertussis) and Chickenpox (Varicella).
