An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Surgical and Speciality services for an Unaccredited Otolaryngologist/ENT Registrar

The Surgical Unaccredited Otolaryngologist/ENT Registrar would provide the day to day clinical management of patients under the supervision and direction of the Director of Otolaryngologist/ENT Surgery, and ensure a high quality of patient care by adequately supervising junior medical staff.


The position of ENT, Head and Neck Registrar will offer you great learning opportunities from attending senior consultant staff, specialist nursing and allied health staff and patients under your care. The senior consultant staff is aware of the study and accreditation requirements placed on you by the College and will, wherever possible, assist you to ensure that these requirements are met.


The ENT, Head and Neck Unaccredited Registrar, with the support and supervision of the senior consultant staff are responsibilities for ensuring the clinically safe and efficient running of the day to day activities of the unit.

This includes assessing patients in clinic, emergency, planning operating schedules, operating with various levels of supervision, monitoring post-operative progress of patients and liaising with other hospital departments in order to achieve the above. Ensure complete documentation of admission and progress notes, ensuring that a record of any specialist medical opinions are annotated in the patient’s medical record treatment sheets and discharge notes in the medical record. Discharge summaries should accompany the patient at the time of discharge.

It involves a high level of communication and the ability to work effectively in a team setting. It is expected that you will mentor and teach junior staff and work cohesively with paramedical departments and nursing staff.

Any other clinical duties as required by the Head of Unit.

The Unaccredited ENT Registrar has a responsibility for the services he/she provides in the Unit including inpatient and outpatient services, diagnostic services, teaching, and research and quality improvement activities. The applicant will also need to perform some on call duties as directed by the Unit



Essential Requirements
MBBS or equivalent

Desirable Requirements
Undertaking post graduate specialty training in Otolaryngologist/ENT Surgery.
