The CompanyA small team of highly qualified and knowledgeable Occupational Therapist Experts provides clinical services within the insurance market. Assisting severely injured workers and participants within the National Disability Insurance Scheme, they are seeking an OT that has clinical experience.
About the role:
As an experienced Occupational Therapist you will deal with clients' serious to severe illnesses, injuries and disabilities. Your main objectives will include:
- Carrying out Activities of Daily Living assessment.
- Functional retraining of injured workers.
- Responsible for a varying caseload of clients requiring case management/OT intervention (Not Occ Rehab)
- Prescribing equipment.
- Providing Support and Care Needs Assessments.
- Internal injury management advice to workers compensation scheme agents.
- Requires wheelchair prescription, home modifications, care needs assessments and ADL assessments within a litigious environment
You will possess great communication skills that allow you to build rapport and remain positive even when faced with adversity. The successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy.
- 5 years minimum clinical experience essential.
- Experience / Knowledge in the following areas brain injury, spinal injury, neurological rehabilitation, aged care, amputee rehabilitation, palliative care, intellectual disability and mental health, desired but not essential.
- Case Management/Occ Rehab experience highly desirable but not essential
- Ability and confidence to apply clinical skills with commercial awareness.
- Full Drivers license and vehicle.
- Experience in workers compensation/CTP/NDIS schemes desired but again not essential.
