Dorevitch Pathology is a leading provider of pathology and diagnostic services throughout Victoria.
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Manager to lead our team in this pivotal role within our Specimen Reception Department.
The role includes overseeing the management of patient samples and their distribution into our specialist testing departments.
This position will provide an applicant with the opportunity to contribute to and participate in the development of critical laboratory operations supporting the central laboratory. The ability to work collaboratively, inspire others and manage time constraints will underpin the smooth running of this complex department.
The responsibilities will include:
- Workflow management of Specimen Reception and workflow throughout the laboratory
- Monitor referred and urgent work
- Liaison between internal (departments)
- Staff management and training.
- Quality Assurance
- WH&S Responsibilities
To take advantage of this personal development opportunity, we require:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in laboratory operations
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff
- Demonstrated experience in effective rostering of staff in 24 hour laboratories and demonstrated experience in effective leave management
- Excellent analytical skills with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong time management, organisational and interpersonal skills
Previous experience in a similar role would be highly regarded.
