Are you looking for a career change? A Fantastic opportunity for an out-going enrolled or registered nurse to step into a unique role as our Activities Coordinator.

 

Your role

 

As an Activities Coordinator at Oak Grange Retirement Village your role is integral to the happiness and well-being of our residents by providing nursing services and offerings that promote healthy living and benefit the body and the mind.

 

Working a 38-hour working week, Monday – Friday, the objective of your role is to work closely alongside the residents to determine their health and well-being needs, then to formulate and deliver plans and programs which meet those needs. Some of your duties will include:

 

  • Organising, co-ordinating activities, outings and hobbies to encourage the interests of the residents;
  • Providing advice to residents on care options and external community service when required, match residents with suitable support services
  • Provide nursing support to the residents.
  • Working collaboratively with the visiting doctor and assisting in medical matters
  • Organising educational information sessions on Positive Aging and healthy living education;
  • Liaising with and assisting external visiting medical providers in ensuring a smooth process is in place for appointments;
  • Establishing and maintaining a positive and supportive relationships with all Residents, Village Employees and Contract Service providers.

 

About You

 

This is a very hands-on role that has the scope to make your own, it will require a can-do attitude and an ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

You will have an empathetic and understanding nature, strong interpersonal skills and a personality which builds trust, confidence and respect in others. Your forward thinking and proactive approach together with strong organization skills to meet the health and wellbeing needs of the residents.

 

You will hold a Diploma of Nursing or other relevant medical qualification, a current First Aid Certificate.

 

An appropriate driver’s licence and ability/willingness to drive a 12-seater bus will be required.
