This organisation supports residents with disabilities within a number of community based residential services, with the support team assisting residents in their homes, encouraging independence and maximising opportunities for individuals to participate and become a valued member in the community.

About the Role

As a House Manager, you will lead and manage the residential staff team to deliver support to the residents. You will assist staff in meeting the needs of the residents in accordance with the National Quality Standards and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) requirements. Residents of the house are all female, presenting various intellectual disabilities resulting in challenging behaviours. Previous experience with this client group is essential.

You will be required to undertake tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Providing and delivering a service to staff, residents and families effectively, focusing on the needs of the residents.
  • Providing effective leadership and active support to staff, including coaching and supervision within a dynamic team.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge and management of policies, procedures and systems effectively.
  • Daily Administration duties, including rostering, management and organisation of team meetings.

Skills and Experience

  • Must hold a Certificate IV in Disability Support or a relevant qualification and demonstrated experience supporting people in a disability support setting essential.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively, delivering a high standard of support.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to engage with different parties in order to facilitate the appropriate form of support.
  • Ability to manage conflicts and problems effectively and delivering appropriate resolutions.
  • Current First Aid Certificate Level 2
  • Current Driver’s License
