HPS and its network of pharmacies supply a wide range of pharmacy services to health facilities, including private hospitals, public hospitals, cancer centres, correctional facilities and specialist clinics.

The Opportunity

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Pharmacist to be part of our highly skilled internal locum pharmacists’ team. This full time role is available for immediate start and is a great opportunity for those looking to diversify and broaden their skills in the provision of pharmacy services, while still maintaining job stability. As a locum pharmacist, you will be required to provide cover to our Victorian sites across multidisciplinary settings, including dispensary, oncology and compounding, IVF and clinical and professional services. The successful incumbent will need to be flexible with travel and shift times, and be available to work in a variety of locations, sometimes with minimal notice.

Key responsibilities (inclusive but not limited to)

• Dispense and supply medications in line with legal and professional requirements
• Liaise with multidisciplinary health professional teams to ensure optimal health outcomes for patients
• Provide clinical pharmacy services to client hospitals and their patients
• Counsel and educate patients and other health professionals on pharmaceutical products and services
• Sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing
• Provide a high level of customer service to HPS’ clients and customers
• Assist with pharmacy administrative and quality tasks as required

Selection Criteria

• Current and valid pharmacist registration with AHPRA

• Membership with a professional indemnity insurance provider

• Good working knowledge of the PBS system

• Hospital experience is highly desirable.

• Valid driver’s license and access to own reliable vehicle

• A positive outlook with the ability to think ‘outside the box’ and solve complex problems independently

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Outstanding attention to detail

• Passion for good customer service with a ‘can-do’ attitude

• Proven ability to work autonomously and within a team
