Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation. 

An exciting opportunity currently exists for a dynamic Operations Manager to join the Chief Operating Officers (COO) team. The COO's Directorate encompasses several key functional areas that deliver a range of organisation wide strategic and operational services which include: clinical operations, health service strategy and planning, Whole of Health Service access, service development and integration and enterprise program management.

Reporting to the COO, the Operations Manager is essential to the effective coordination of core business within the COO’s Directorate.  Supporting the COO and the Executive Director Operations (EDO) the role supports a range of cross Directorate functions to achieve the organisations strategic objectives and operational requirements.

 

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Demonstrated ability to gather, collate, analyse and present data in understandable formats
  • High level analytical and problem solving skills that enable reporting on complex issues, sound decision making, timely responses and creative solutions
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience of improvement, change and project management methodologies
  • Experience in group facilitation
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and collaboration skills
  • Proven judgement and discretion and the ability to make decisions and recommendations where diverse interests need to be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to coach for improved performance
  • Demonstrated ability to consult, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Australian and Victorian Healthcare system
  • Ability to work across multiple areas of the organisation
  • Ability to prioritise work and competing priorities
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
