The Company

The Role
We have exciting opportunities for suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurses (Primary Care Nurse Division 1) to join our nurse lead model of care at the medical centre in the Ravenhall Correctional Centre in Melbourne's Western Suburbs.

The role of the Primary Care Nurse within the centre includes daily clinical triage of prisoner health complaints, medication management, immunisations, pathology testing, chronic disease care coordination, health promotion and emergency care.
The requires the incumbent to work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including medical officers, mental health nurses, allied health providers, as well as our administrative and clinical support staff. The role provides autonomy and an opportunity for the successful candidate to work and make a difference with a vulnerable population.
The successful applicants will have:
- Registered (Division 1) Nurse qualifications
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Experience in a variety of primary health care or acute hospital settings
- Enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Be committed to delivering quality primary health care services in a correctional environment
- Possess excellent clinical assessment skills and be an effective communicator
- Be committed to timely incident reporting, legislative compliance, documentation and developing stakeholder relationships
- Have knowledge of Legislation and a genuine commitment to standards and quality practices
- Intermediate to advanced computer literacy.
- Previous experience in Correctional Health is not essential, as support and a comprehensive orientation program is provided.
