An exciting opportunity exists to experience and work within the caseload model of Midwifery at RNSH Midwifery Group Practice, providing Antenatal Care, Birth and Postnatal care in the women’s’ home, using all your midwifery skills and scope of practice - or being supported to achieve these goals. 


Where you'll be working
This midwifery caseload model of care is part of the North Shore Maternity Service. This position is supported by the midwives within the RNSH MGP, the Midwifery Unit Manager, Clinical Midwifery Consultant and Educators. Orientation, preceptorship, mentorship and clinical supervision are available, as well as support in professional development in working towards the Midwifery Practice Review process or its equivalent.

What you'll be doing

To provide quality woman centred, effective, evidenced based midwifery care in accordance with the ANMC National Competency Standards for the Midwife (2006) and to supervise the work of others as required.


The midwife will consult and liaise with obstetric, medical and other appropriate staff as per the ACM National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and referral (PD2010_022) guidelines when deviations from the norm are identified.


Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants and applicants for positions designated as Category A will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment. 

 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:       

  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  • Registered Midwife, registered with APHRA.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a high level of written and verbal skills with both patients and colleagues.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Recent experience and competency to practise as a midwife in antenatal, labour, birth and postnatal care, lactation and infant feeding.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Current unrestricted NSW Drivers licence.
