Position Summary:
A vacancy exists in the Physiotherapy Department for a highly motivated Indigenous Physiotherapist to join our friendly and supportive team for a locum position of 6 months

The Indigenous Level 1/2 rotating position is a fixed-term full-time position working across a range of clinical areas at St Vincent's Hospital on a rotational basis. The clinical rotational areas include Rehabilitation, Orthopaedics, Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Acute Medical and Surgical Wards, Palliative Care and Cardiothoracics/Intensive Care. It is a locum position until the end of January 2019.

Selection Criteria

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
  • Degree / Diploma in Physiotherapy and current Australian Physiotherapy Registration
  • Be of Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander; and be accepted as such by the community in which you live, or have lived. You will be required to confirm your Aboriginality (e.g. presenting a certificate or paper from a recognised Aboriginal organisation with a common seal or Aboriginal Land Council).
  • Postgraduate clinical experience
  • Demonstrates an acceptable level of professional competence
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a demanding workload and prioritise where necessary
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and to work independently with minimal physiotherapy supervision
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, Quality Improvement and Workplace Health and Safety policies
