Metropolitan Palliative Care Consultancy Service
(MPaCCS) & Bethesda Hospital

Bethesda Health Care is looking for a social worker willing to join the palliative care program on a flexible work basis.
The position will be a casual one, providing leave cover for our team of 3 full time social workers.
One of the Social Worker positions is based at our hospital in Claremont, servicing clients and families on our wards, the other positions are in our community program – Metropolitan Palliative Consultancy Service (MPaCCS).
MPaCCS provide a palliative care consultancy services to address the known ‘gaps in palliative care, working primarily in residential care facilities, psychiatric and correctional facilities. The MPaCCS multidisciplinary team works from an office in South Perth and their focus is a capacity building one, working with staff to improve palliative outcomes for residents.
To ensure efficient delivery of the service, a vehicle is provided to the Social Worker whilst working with MPaCCS.
Essential Criteria
- Knowledge of ACAT processes
- A network of contacts and resources.
- Ability to collaboratively build health care professional capacity in palliative care
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to support health care professionals in undertaking psycho-social assessments, implement plans and assess outcomes
- Plan and deliver palliative care education sessions to health care professionals
- Experience working in a palliative care setting
- West Australian drivers licence.
