Your new role

As part of the Independent Living team at Merri Health, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver high quality, evidence-based Exercise Physiology clinical services for clients within  the Independent Living team.
  • Provide high quality education and information to patients about the management of their condition, involving clients and carers in decision making and arranging appropriate medical and allied health follow up where required.
  • Actively contribute to the development of professional and clinical standards, clinical practices, and work unit guidelines.
  • Participate in quality and service improvement activities that enhance the delivery of CHSP Exercise Physiology services.

This is a full time role offered on an ongoing basis. You will be based in Coburg. In order to be considered for this position you must have the right to work in Australia. 

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or Masters in the area of clinical Exercise Physiology.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist in subacute or      community settings.
  • Proven experience in completion of physical assessments, development of care plans and      implementation of evidence-based clinical interventions for clients in the aged population.
  • Experience in client self-management strategies, motivational interviewing, health coaching, and lifestyle modification – encouraging clients to increase their independence with ADL’s.

What we offer

This opportunity will give you exposure to providing high quality, evidence-based, home & centre-based clinical exercise physiology services for clients aged 65 and over referred through My Aged Care to the Independent Living Team.  This position is supported by a Senior CHSP Exercise Physiologist with opportunities in clinical education and continuous quality improvement.
