About the business and the role

We require an experienced medical secretary/receptionist to join our busy, non-corporate medical centre near Fremantle.

 

Previous medical experience is required. Computer literacy is crucial. Must be available to work Saturdays.

 

Experience and Attributes:

- Medical secretary/reception experience required

- Professional and personable telephone manner.

- Proficient computer skills (knowledge of Best Practice desirable)

- Demonstrated initiative, time management skills and ability to work under pressure.

- Exceptional customer service skills.

- Ability to multi-task and prioritise (essential).

- Ability to support several practitioners at one time.

- Ability to undertake all activities in an appropriate confidential, courteous and polite manner.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- High standard of presentation.

- Attention to detail.

Job tasks and responsibilities

- Welcoming, greeting and arriving patients.

- Collect and enter new patient details.

- Computer-related work including e-mails and the use of Best Practice software.

- Making follow-up appointments including radiology, other specialists and medical/allied-health practitioners.

- Answering telephone calls.

- Confirming appointments using SMS

- Billing; processing private accounts, use of Best Practice as well as general Eftpos/cash handling.

- Any other administrative/reception support as required.
