The Practice
Northern Territory PHN
NT PHN offers a free recruitment service to health professionals and health services across the Northern Territory. This includes a diverse range of opportunities such as remote communities, urban towns, private practices and Aboriginal community controlled health organisations.
The Role
NT PHN are currently recruiting for a number of Speech pathologist to work across the Northern Territory including Darwin and Alice Springs. These positions will deliver high quality and contemporary family-centred speech pathology services for children and adults. You will be responsible for developing individualised assessment and therapy for clients with speech, language, literacy, voice, fluency, and swallowing/eating disorders and follow evidence based best practice.
You will be required to travel as the practice provides of speech pathology services to clients in remote locations via outreach or telehealth. This provides an essential service to clients that do not have access to treatment in their community.
These positions are open to recent graduates wanting to start their career.
Applicants are required to provide a current CV and contact details for at least two referees.
Essential Criteria
- Recognised degree or diploma in Speech Pathology.
- Practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia with CPSP status and participation in PSR.
- Current NT driver’s license.
- Current criminal history check and Ochre Card.
- Own public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
- Post graduate speech pathology experience preferably in paediatrics.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuing professional development and performance management.
- Effective interpersonal skills, written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Competency with standard computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, email)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and also in collaboration with others.
- Effective time management and organisation skills.
- Experience and knowledge of cultural and linguistic diversity issues.
