Nurse Unit Manager, Cancer Services


Ongoing Full Time, 80 hours a fortnight

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced oncology nurse to lead the nursing team at Yarra Ranges Health in oncology services in delivering and developing cancer services.

Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a comprehensive range of high quality acute, sub-acute, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care and community health services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs.

Eastern Health is the largest provider of cancer services in the north eastern area of Melbourne, operating as a single service over multiple sites including Day Oncology Chemotherapy services at Yarra Ranges Health, Maroondah Hospital and Box Hill Hospital. Demand for cancer services is expected to increase an average of 5% per annum to 2021/22, and a comprehensive Cancer Services Plan is in place at Eastern Health to meet this demand.

This Nurse Unit Manager role offers the opportunity to play a key role as part of the Cancer Services team in delivering high quality care to our patients, and developing services to meet the expected demands.

The role is challenging but rewarding with support for professional development both clinically and as a leader and manager with opportunity to make a real difference in service delivery, workforce development.

 

To be successful in this role you should possess:

  • Current nursing registration with AHPRA 
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Oncology Nursing
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
