We have an exciting opportunity available for a motivated and patient centred Senior Nurse Educator (Psychiatric) who is passionate about excellence in clinical standards and patient orientated nursing care in mental health. This role will allow you to make a difference to the learning experience of the ‘novice’ nurse working in mental health.
Reporting into Learning & Teaching (Mental Health) at Eastern Health you will work closely with the multidisciplinary team in mental health at Box Hill hospital as well as working across all Eastern Health sites to support the needs of Mental Health Pre-Registration nursing students, mental health nursing graduates and nurses undergoing the Transition to Practice program in mental health. Role modelling best practice behaviours and values through your mentoring and supervision will ensure pre-registration nursing students, nursing graduates and transition to practice nurses are developing and delivering excellent and consistent patient centred care in mental health.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Hold current nursing registration with AHPRA
- Be experienced in mentoring and supervising novice clinicians
- Have excellent knowledge of best practice in mental health nursing care
- Be highly accountable and display a supportive and engaging style
- Have completed a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
- Have a post registration qualification relevant to the position or enrolled in appropriate course at time of employment (preferably at a Masters level)
- Have the ability to work autonomously with excellent organisational, critical thinking, problem solving and prioritisation skills
- Be experienced in facilitating and contributing to clinical change within the work place
