The Role 

In this newly created role, you’ll lead the direct to market (DTM) operations model in the pharmacy channel for Amgen and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to achieve key business outcomes.  Priorities in this role will be leading an optimal model for the business internally, and ensuring effective results through maximization of distribution and pharmacy channel management.  You will also be responsible for ongoing analysis, management and optimisation of the model, including financial management and reporting to optimise distribution efficiencies. 

 

Externally, key to the long-term success of the role will be the establishment of strong trusted business relationships and engagement with key stakeholders in Community Pharmacy.  We will be looking to you to proactively provide strategic business solutions and identify commercial opportunities by recommending and developing pharmacy strategies and programs to deliver compelling customer value into the future.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the management of new distribution model across the organisation to drive outcomes
  • Ensure financial management through effective management of ordering by pharmacy and realisation of distribution efficiencies
  • Co-ordinate delivery of key internal milestones and outputs to maximise success
  • Operate as a key liaison for our distribution partner, Pharmacy Banner groups, Pharmacy Buying Marketing groups, driving Bone specific opportunities
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key customers to build the Amgen customer service model in pharmacy channel and deliver outcomes
  • Be the in-field pharmacy expert and work closely with pharmacy partners, as well as cross-functionally with internal field and head office teams to develop and drive successful innovative pharmacy programs and initiatives
  • Work on broader cross functional initiatives and projects to maximise business performance in the Community pharmacy retail channel
  • Regularly gather and analyse relevant customer, territory and pharmacy channel information and assess future market needs to help prioritise activity/resources and deliver results
  • Adhere to relevant Amgen compliances processes, policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge

  • Tertiary qualification in life sciences or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • +5 years of senior commercial experience including National Retail Pharmacy business management or Strategic National account experience with Australian Retail Pharmacy Banner Groups/Wholesalers
  • Significant business acumen with proven strategic and analytical thinking and ability to execute strategic plans
  • Strong financial planning and analysis skillset
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaboration to manage cross functional projects or teams
  • Development and maintenance of enduring senior customer relationships and partnerships 
  • Experience in developing innovative disease programs, solutions and ability to execute successfully
  • Influencing skills and contract negotiation expertise
  • Fluency in English, both in oral and written communication
  • Good computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent communication skills and previous experience working with sales and marketing teams/matrix organisations
  • Understanding of the healthcare environment, wholesaler, key distribution and pharmacy channels
