We are currently seeking an experienced team leader or project coordinators with prior working knowledge of the adoption, kinship care and permanent care space. Providing support to children and families the ideal candidate for this role will have experience in counselling, education and training along with providing intensive support to parents, guardians and children.
To be successful in this role you must:
- Hold a tertiary degree in Social Work or Psychology
- Significant background in working within the Child Youth and Family Welfare Sector
- Experience in case management, assessment, counselling and mediation
- Knowledge and experience of the current practice of permanent care, adoption and child protection laws
- A current working with children's check, and police check (or be willing to undergo a police check)
You duties in this role will include:
- Providing counselling to parents considering adoption
- Placement of infants with adoptive families
- Providing a stable and secure family life for children form the protective services system- through recruitment, training and assessment to approved carers.
- Providing counselling and information for all people involved in the adoption process
- Liaising with other agencies
- Ensuring that all cases are managed within a risk management framework
- Developing creative and flexible service responses
