The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) is the national peak body representing Australia’s 30,000 pharmacists working in all sectors and across all locations in Australia. We are now seeking expressions of interest from experienced pharmacists interested in working in a collaborative team role within an Aboriginal Health Service setting as part of the Integrating Pharmacists within Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services to improve Chronic disease outcomes (IPAC) Project.
This dynamic role will be tailored to suit the needs of the practice with 10 core activities focused on medication management for the patient, the practice and the health system.
Key duties, tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Patient directed services;
- Practice based quality assurance activities;
- Staff directed services;
- Liaison services;
- Recording all necessary details of activities undertaken to meet the research requirements of the project.
Interested candidates should possess the following key attributes:
- Current registration as a Pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
- Minimum of two years post-registration experience in pharmacy (hospital, community or primary care);
- Preferably hold or be working toward accreditation for the delivery of Medication Management Reviews, or demonstrating sound clinical skills;
- Demonstrated understanding and awareness of Aboriginal cultures and healthcare, including acceptance of the principles of community control and self-determination;
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills including the ability to influence and facilitate change;
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations to small groups, including excellent written communication skills;
- The ability and enthusiasm to work independently or as part of a team;
- Well-developed organizational skills including time management.
