Latrobe Community Health Service is a not-for-profit provider of a range of health and wellbeing services across Victoria. We are a growing organisation committed to excellent customer service and to being an active and positive participant in the life of the communities we serve. Our dedicated workforce is the key to our success and we aim to provide our employees a role in an organisation that is a truly great place to work.

An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a passionate and suitably qualified professional in the AOD & Counselling team at Latrobe Community Health Service.

The Royal Commission into Family Violence (Victoria) found that health services, including Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) and Mental Health (MH) services are in a unique position to be able to identify and respond to family violence experienced by their clients.

The Royal Commission have made recommendations to improve collaboration between the family violence sector and the AOD and MH sectors to enhance the capacity of practitioners to recognise and respond to family violence victims/survivors and perpetrators.

As the Specialist AOD Family Violence Advisor, your role will involve providing expertise to major MH and AOD services and encourage all three sectors to collaborate through the promotion of shared casework models.

You will be required to utilise your expertise by supporting workers in the AOD sector within their catchment, to identify and respond to family violence with their clients, whether they are experiencing family violence or perpetrating family violence.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in social work of related community services discipline
  • A Cert IV in Alcohol & Other Drugs or the willingness to complete
  • Experience working in the AOD or MH sector with knowledge of the family violence system

For more information please contact Jo-Ann Brailey, Manager AOD & Counselling, on 1800 242 696. Applications will close 11pm, Sunday 15 July 2018.
