7 Day Rotating Shift

The hospital is located in Sydney's South and is adjacent to St George Public Hospital. St George Private Hospital is a fully accredited 276 bed advanced surgical and acute medical facility. Working in partnership with some of Australia's leading medical specialists, the hospital has developed a strong reputation in Cardiac, Orthopaedics & Spinal Care, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Medical, Cancer Care, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Colorectal and Urology.
An opportunity exists for experienced hotel services / environmental services professionals to join our environmental services team on a casual basis working across a 7 day rotating roster.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Ensuring a clean environment is maintained (patient rooms and common areas)
- General cleaning of all areas within the hospital using a variety of applicable machinery and equipment
- Daily completion of Cleaning Checklist
- Carpet extraction and scrubbing of equipment
- Delivery & collection of hospital linen and waste
- Liaising with Team Leaders and Ward Staff
- Logging maintenance requirements
- Use of Chemicals
- Cleaning and making of patients beds
- Removal and hanging of curtains
Essential Criteria:
- ‘Can do’ attitude and good work ethic
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of infection control and manual handling
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
- Physically fit and energetic
Desirable Criteria:
- Current or recent experience in hotel services - housekeeping
- Certificate III in Asset Maintenance (Cleaning Operations)
- Use of industrial floor polisher/scrubber
- Use of heavy lifters for the transportation of bulk linen and waste
