Breathewell is a respiratory and sleep practice located at Redlands Specialist Centre in Cleveland. Redlands Specialist Centre is a multidisciplinary specialist centre.  A lung function lab is onsite, servicing 3 respiratory and sleep specialists and the local community.    You will be working closely with the administrative staff of Redlands Specialist Centre, and must be able to work effectively in a team environment, and respect workplace culture.

You will be required to perform:

•               Spirometry and flow volume loops;

•               Gas transfer;

•               Body plethysmography;

•               Bronchial provocation tests (mannitol);

•               Maximal inspiratory and expiratory pressures (MIPs and MEPs);

•               Fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO);

•               6 minute walk test;

•               Accurate reports on the above tests;

•               Hooking up of home sleep studies, cleaning and maintenance of equipment, downloads and delivery of timely reports.

You will be required to perform duties relating to the running and maintenance of the lab and its equipment including:

•               Calibration;

•               Quality control;

•               Infection control, and maintenance of safety standards;

•               Troubleshooting, including computer troubleshooting;

•               Sourcing and ordering of consumables;

•               Scheduled maintenance,  with log keeping;

•               Administrative duties, including ensuring smooth workflow with concurrent respiratory clinics;

•               Updating policies and procedures;

•               Adherence to current guidelines;

•               Provision of end of month reports to principals.

You will be expected to ensure continuing professional education, maintain membership in the Australian and New Zealand Society of Respiratory Science (ANZSRS), and attend educational meetings.

Candidates eligible for this position should possess:

•               A tertiary qualification in applied science, clinical measurements, or human physiology;

•               Previous experience in similar role:

•               Proficiency in performing and interpreting routine and complex respiratory physiology measurement.

Preferred but not essential:     

•               Qualifications in respiratory physiology and/or professional credentialing as a Certified Respiratory Function Scientist (CRFS) from the Australian and New Zealand Society of Respiratory Science (ANZSRS);

•               Experience with Embletta home sleep study equipment and Remlogic software;

•               Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential;

•               Experience with  Medisoft body box equipment
