Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is a world-class cancer treatment and research facility providing all care and support service under one roof to both public and private patients. Out missions is to improve the quality of life for cancer patients, cares and their families by advancing the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of the disease. Lifehouse is an independent not-for-profit institution. Any operating surplus received by the hospital is re-invested in the Lifehouse hospital to continually innovate and improve services.

We are seeking an organised Senior Radiation Therapist. The successful applicant will manage and co-ordinate Quality Assurance and Improvement in the Radiation Oncology Department of the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse. To ensure Quality Improvement programs are developed and managed aligning with the Strategic Vision and Mission of the Lifehouse. Review departmental systems and documentation to monitor adherence to protocols, levels of accuracy and efficiency.  As a manager, this role is expected to lead and model behaviour, which optimizes safe and high-quality care. This role must consider safety and quality implications as part of its decision-making process.

Senior Radiation Therapist need to be available for on-call rosters, flexible work hours.

Essential Criteria         

1. Graduate of a course in Medical Radiation Science - Radiation Therapy, accredited by the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT); and eligible for licensure by the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) and eligible for registration by the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
2. Demonstrated high level understanding of Radiation Therapy principles and practices
3. Demonstrate knowledge and experience of quality assurance processes in a clinical setting.
4. Demonstrated leadership and management qualities, be self-motivated.
5. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills, both spoken and written including the ability to clearly communicate complex issues to all levels of staff
6. Demonstrated ability to display initiative, sound organizational skills, multitask, prioritize work and meet deadlines in both self-directed and team environments.
7. Must be a Level 4 Senior Radiation Therapist (or equivalent)
