In this unique, broad, and dynamic role, the National Commercial Manager’s focus is to support our Transformational Growth Plan by implementing value-based solutions with strategic commercial accounts, to ultimately deliver better patient outcomes.

You’ll establish long-term relationships between Novartis and these strategic accounts, such as Public Hospitals, Private Hospital Accounts, and Pharmacy Accounts, to establish Novartis as a strong partner and develop valuable solutions that have mutual benefits.

This is an exclusive opportunity to work across the breadth of Novartis’ product portfolio in a truly commercial role. You’ll be working on an established portfolio of longer term agreements, including patient access opportunities and health initiatives.

You will:

  • Define, identify and prioritise the key Strategic accounts for Australia – specifically Pharmacy and Private Hospitals
  • Develop unique value proposition for each Strategic Account, implementing comprehensive account plans and programs, including key activities, priorities, and performance objectives
  • Regularly report on these business account plans to the Pharma Leadership Team
  • Establish cross divisional partnerships with large pharmacy chains, e-pharmacy and discount pharmacy networks to reduce financial burden to chronic patients on Novartis medications
  • Partner with key Pharmacy accounts to increase patient adherence via unique loyalty programs and partnership models that increase compliance and improves outcomes for co-morbid patients
  • Ensure cross-functional development and alignment with Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Medical and other key functions
  • Participate in IBT’s as required to co-develop commercial product strategies within the pharmacy setting

This role would support key accounts in VIC and TAS – there is some travel required in this role.

About You:

With a high degree of business acumen, you may have worked across a wide variety of industries but specifically understand the hospital environment and how Novartis can support this business. You have proven experience in managing key accounts, with the confidence to develop partnerships with Executives in a large, commercial setting. You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Science, Business, Marketing or similar, plus further postgraduate qualification
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to make impact with senior level stakeholders
  • Effective in dealing with key decision makers, and can deal effectively with the commercial aspects of Retail Pharmacy
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the hospital market / familiarity with the hospital supply system.
