ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the team in Community Mental Health, located in stunning rural Bourke, NSW.

The Registered Nurse is an integral part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team providing nursing care to patients/clients of the health service; and leading, directing and supervising other nurses and care roles in the team, such as ENs, AINs and student RNs, to support quality care for patients/clients.

Your Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Undertakes nursing interventions to the level and scope of practice, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing interventions to support patients/clients achieve their health and wellbeing goals.
• Coordinates nursing and health care to facilitate positive health outcomes.
• Accurate collation and timely completion of health care information in relevant health care record systems, to ensure necessary information is available to meet legal requirements and guide ongoing care.
• Participates in a collaborative care model, communicating effectively with patients/ clients, carers and other healthcare team members/colleagues regarding nursing care, to support outcomes which meet patient/ client needs.
• Delegates and supervises Enrolled Nurses, Assistants In Nursing, undergraduate student RNs and other staff as appropriate, in delivery of nursing interventions relevant to their education, training and scope of practice, to support quality health outcomes for the patient/client.

CRITERIA
You must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute setting. Experience within Community Mental Health and/or Inpatient Mental Health is highly regarded.

• Current AHPRA registration
• 2 years previous experience as a Registered Nurse
• Demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to delegate and prioritize work load
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Experience providing clinical, patient centred-care

Note: These positions are not open to new or recent graduates and the successful candidates must have a minimum of 12 months experience in an acute setting (in Australia or a similar healthcare system).
