A unique opportunity exists for a Physiotherapist to join our team in a casual capacity. Working primarily from our Myrtle Bank site, the Physiotherapist works closely with other clinical team members, the Well-Being team and members of the care and hospitality team.

What we are looking for:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) or equivalent and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Experience:

  • Experience working in clinical practice in the aged care environment including implementing or promoting clinical practice change
  • Experience in managing the physiotherapy care of residents with a range of chronic conditions

Knowledge:

  • An understanding of age related frailties and illnesses.
  • An understanding of the distinction between medical based models of care and wellbeing based models of care and the importance of good clinical outcomes for older people.
  • Knowledge of the range and type of services available for elderly people

Skills, abilities and attributes:  

  • Ability to apply sound clinical reasoning skills including when assessing and developing goals for care of residents.
  • Ability to work effectively and co-operatively in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Ability to work autonomously and also effectively in a team environment.
  • Sound interpersonal skills consistent with the values of the organisation
  • Sound problem solving and decision making skills
  • Able to operate with limited supervision
  • Ability to influence outcomes through robust verbal and written communication skills and negotiating skills
  • Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Sound computer literacy & experience in Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Ability to conduct education and training sessions
