We are currently recruiting for a Permanent part-time position in the Medical Records Department
The Clinical Coder is responsible for accurately assigning specific morbidity and procedural classification to patient episodes to meet data reporting requirements
Essential Requirements: Health Information Management Association of Australia
- Introductory ICD-10-AM 1-2 years practical experience or
- Intermediate ICD-10-AM or
- Certificate 1V in Clinical Classification
Key Accountabilities
- Code inpatient episodes in accordance with Australian Coding Standards
- Meet standards of coding accuracy and awareness of DRG assignment and the impact on potential funding
- Identification of unclear or ambiguous documentation and subsequent initiation of coding queries
- Participate in coding audit, quality and education to expand coding skills
- Apply the principals of confidentiality, privacy and security with the medical environment
