Upton House, one of Eastern Health's acute adult inpatient psychiatry unit based at Box Hill hospital, is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse, Grade 2 and Enrolled Nurse to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team.

 

Upton House is a 25 bed adult acute Inpatient Psychiatry Unit.  We provide care for consumers aged from 18 to 65 years who require Mental Health short term inpatient management and treatment during an acute or severe phase of mental illness. Our unit fosters a collaborative and compassionate team approach and is seeking individuals who will enjoy working in this environment to achieve great patient outcomes and great patient experience. The Upton House team is committed to providing great patient care at all times and works to maintain and improve knowledge through provision of a range of therapeutic interventions and programs, both to consumers and families.

 

For this interesting and dynamic role we require candidates, who possess the ability to:

• To provide recovery focused care and who have;
• Current nursing registration with AHPRA 
• Post Graduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing)
• Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
• A strong commitment to high quality care
• The ability to work as part of a diverse team
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Recent expertise working with consumers that have a mental illness including the ability to conduct and document a comprehensive mental state examination and risk assessment
• Demonstrated ability to work with people with dual diagnosis;
• Understanding of the National Framework for recovery orientated mental health services.
