The Role
Reporting to the local Health Director, you will be a results-focused and passionate aboriginal health promotion professional keen to join our small but committed health team in the NT. In this position, you will play a key role in increasing the knowledge of aboriginal heart health within our community. Excellent communication, relationship building, and negotiation skills are required to maximise opportunities with government, industry, peak bodies, professional associations and academic institutions.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A tertiary qualification in public health or health promotion.
- Demonstrated experience in health promotion project planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Understanding of current public health approaches to the delivery of relevant programs, including primary health care, community development and health promotion principles.
- Sound knowledge of health promotion and prevention policy frameworks and tools and an understanding of how these relate to the Northern Territory (NT) context.
- Knowledge and understanding of the social determinants of health and their impact on the target populations.
