What you'll be doing


The PIMH position works in a collaborative model within Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) the position supports antenatal psychosocial screening, consultation and care coordination for families. The PIMH team provides a comprehensive parent-infant and family focused service where consultation with key stakeholders and partnership development are priorities. The scope of the role includes providing evidence based interventions and case management for families and baby’s. The goal of this position within the PIMH team is to improve health outcomes for women and their families, by increasing support networks and, reducing vulnerabilities and risk factors in the perinatal period.

This position is classified as follows:

  • Social Worker/Occupational Therapist Level 3 under the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award or
  • Senior Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist under the Health and Community or
  • Employees Psychologists (State) Awards or
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 under the Public Health System Nurses and Midwives (State) Award



  1. Minimum Tertiary Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy or Counselling or Community Welfare or Social Work (where degree provides eligibility for professional membership of the relevant professional body eg AASW) plus registration with AHPRA (where applicable);OR Master's Degree or higher in Clinical Psychology (post grad qualifications must be no less than 2 years fulltime duration and include professional clinical casework, clinical training and supervised placement experience as core components plus full registration as a Psychologist with endorsement to practice as a Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA;OR 4 year degree in psychology, being a 3 year degree with a fourth year honours in psychology and registration with AHPRA. Employees must meet Award requirements for Senior Psychologist; OR Tertiary Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (inc. Div. 1 AHPRA registration) with relevant post grad qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their post grad study
  2. Demonstrated extensive experience and knowledge working with consumers and families in the perinatal period; including mental health assessment, screening, care coordination, case review and management of complex needs.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of the impact of mental health problems and mental illness on parenting, parent – infant relationships and infant development.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with ability to work autonomously and have organisational skills, including the ability to work to a timeline with competing priorities.
  5. Proven computer skills including use of Microsoft Work, excel and databases for data collection/reporting requirements and general administration use and a current unrestricted NSW drivers licence and ability to travel within Central Coast Local Health District
  6. Demonstrated understanding of how the District is Caring for the Coast and how this role would contribute.
