Our client is seeking an APS6 Procurement Specialist to supplement existing procurement resources and assist with procurement activities required for the digital transformation of the department.  Whilst these procurement roles are required for an initial period of six months, the roles may be extended beyond this initial term.

Under broad direction of Assistant Director Procurement and Contracting, the role will be responsible for undertaking a range of activities to support the procurement requirements.  This will include the provision of quality and timely procurement and contracting assistance to branches. 

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Provision of practical guidance and solutions on procurement and contract management including drafting complex tenders and contracts in accordance with government templates, the PGPA Act and Commonwealth Procurement Rules and broader Commonwealth Procurement Framework
• Assisting with the development of better practice procurement and contract management related policies, guidelines and procedures
• Assisting with the management of the department’s procurement planning and reporting requirements

To be considered you must have the following skills and experience:

• Demonstrated experience with the provision of procurement advice and the delivery of procurement outcomes including the development of approaches to market, use of panel arrangements and drafting procurement contracts
• Relevant experience and knowledge of government ICT procurement
• High level communication skills with a demonstrated capacity to provide accurate and timely advice and write procurement documents and the ability to work constructively with a range of stakeholders.
• Relevant qualifications (i.e. minimum of a Certificate IV in Government (Procurement and Contracting))

A minimum Baseline Security Clearance is highly regarded.
