Joining the Integrated Mental Health team, you will contribute to the delivery of an integrated range of occupational therapy services for consumers with a severe and enduring mental illness. As a member of the multidisciplinary mental health team, including health professionals and service providers from other sectors, you will utilise a combination of preventative, early intervention, treatment/therapy and evaluation approaches. You will develop and maintain a working knowledge of regional and local support programs including home support services. If appointed at the AHP2 level, you will be an experienced clinician who can provide a consultancy service to other staff, agencies and community members regarding provision of holistic mental health care services to consumers. The AHP2 will also work under reduced clinical direction, and may contribute to the clinical supervision of less experienced allied health professionals, allied health assistants and students. You must hold a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and be eligible for registration as an Occupational Therapist within Australia. In addition, you will have experience in providing occupational therapy services across a range of service settings, including one-on-one, group based and health promotion activities. Demonstrating a commitment to providing person-centred care, you will possess sound knowledge of contemporary methods of treatment and application in mental health. If appointed at the AHP2 level you will be capable of supporting others in developing workload management plans, including the allocation of team resources.
