About the role

• You will be responsible for performing waste management facility operational tasks with a focus on customer control, plant or equipment operation and site maintenance.
• The Wage for this position is $961.52 gross per week plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.4% superannuation.
• In addition to the 38 hour week, you will be required to participate in a rotating weekend roster.
• Please note that a Plant Assessment will be part of the recruitment process.

How to be successful in this position - Success Criteria

You will need:

1. The mandatory qualifications and licences as outlined in the "Success Criteria" of the Position Description.
2. Demonstrated ability to exercise well developed skills in the safe, effective and efficient operation of plant and transport vehicles in accordance with the directions and consistent with qualifications, competencies and licenses held or required to the principles of best practice, Council standards and legislative requirements.
3. Ability to perform a broad range of waste management facility operational tasks including heavy physical labouring tasks in varying climatic conditions to a high standard and in a safe manner.
4. Excellent customer service skills and sound numeracy, oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide accurate timely advice to customers and other staff in a helpful and supportive manner. Basic computer skills are desirable.
5. Demonstrated ability to gain a good understanding of all aspects of waste facility operations, policies and procedures with a demonstrated ability to understand and comply with directions and to communicate effectively with work colleagues and internal and external stakeholders.
6. Understanding of and commitment to Council's Organisational Vallues and Behaviours of "Collaboration and Teamwork".
