The Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC), is the peak industry representative body for mineral exploration and mining throughout Australia with a broad and diverse membership base. See www.amec.org.au for further information on the organisation.
Reporting to the CEO (based in Western Australia) and working closely with the State Advisory Committee, the Regional Manager is accountable for leading the development and execution of AMEC’s long-term strategy in New South Wales with a view to creating strong outcomes for members. This will include:
- Represent the interests of AMEC’s NSW members;
- Deliver new member growth;
- Lobbying and advocacy for the mining and exploration sector in the state;
- Represent AMEC on relevant industry, government and community based committees, task forces and working groups;
This is an important and highly influential role that will require:
- An innovative and proactive approach to your work;
- Outstanding media, stakeholder engagement and lobbying skills;
- The ability to work autonomously;
- An aptitude for analysing complex issues, garnering support and delivering successful outcomes for members.
- Previous experience in the media, corporate affairs or policy development is preferred.
