Reporting to the Team Leader Catering, key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a team of committed professionals from the front, with your leadership of the kitchen and its team
  • Be the inspiration that drives the team to achieving success beyond key internal and external stakeholder expectation
  • Not to accept the status quo; be willing to step outside the box and bring initiative and new ideas to an already great existing business
  • Supervise and provide effective leadership with the delegation of tasks to staff to achieve business objectives
  • Promote and lead team development through effective means including training, mentoring and coaching
  • Solid understanding of HACCP principles, ensuring  compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations relating to food preparation and production, Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) and any other relevant statutory Regulation and standards
  • Manage production of cook chill facility, menu design, food costing, delivery and budgets
  • Ensure high quality customer service is provided to maintain and enhance the customer experience
  • Assist with the formulation of business and sales plans in conjunction with the relevant personnel and assist in the implementation to achieve the desired business outcomes

In this exciting “Hands On” role, the following skills are required:

  • Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Chef Manager/Catering Manager role in a medium to large scale kitchen or multi outlet environment
  • Intermediate administrative skills including Microsoft applications, integrated ordering and stock management systems etc.
  • Current Chef experience
  • Experience with modern state of the art bulk cooking equipment
  • Demonstrated experience in performance management and HR processes and procedures
  • Maturity and strong organisational skills
  • A strong desire to develop and promote both your personal and the business profile through external networking opportunities
  • Must hold current Qld Driver’s License
