As the Emergency Management Professional this role is critical to ensuring the hospital is prepared for any reasonable foreseeable emergency.  The key purchase is to assist the Emergency Management Team in co ordinating and managing the non clinical Emergency Management Plan and Disaster Preparedness functions at Fiona Stanley Hospital.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
 

  • Assist with the management of processes related to planning, co ordinating and executing emergency management operations and disaster preparedness services including but not limited:
    • training staff in emergency management and service operations
    • updating policies, procedures and plans
    • serving as liaison with other agencies ie DFES
  • Development of processes including but not limited to CBRN, Evacuation & Area Warden procedures
  • Assist with the management and co ordination of equipment to ensure adequate supplies are available and ready for any situation
  • Prepare and conduct annual drills and exercises to meet the requirements of hospital preparedness
  • Undertake scheduled audits and complete investigations as required
  • Act as Support Officer for Emergency Operations Centre as needed
  • Administrative tasks as required

What we’re looking for:

  • Cert IV in training and Assessment
  • Investigation and Auditor qualifications with demonstrated experience
  • High level of competence in the use of Outlook, Word, Excel, report writing and PowerPoint
  • Well developed communication skills with the ability to explain technical information and concepts to non-technical personnel
  • Formal OSHE qualifications are highly desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of emergency management and preparedness within a health care environment
  • Demonstrated experience in training delivery
