Gladstone Regional Council are looking for an ambitious and high performing Business Development Officer to join our new Events & Entertainment team.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of something from the ground up! You’ll be responsible for driving new strategies that generate major event attraction to the Gladstone region. You’ll also develop strategic partnerships that result in increased business to the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre and increased support of Council’s Community Events.
The Events & Entertainment team are responsible for Central Queensland’s premier Conference & Events Facility – the Gladstone Entertainment Centre. This team will also deliver Council’s suite of community events. With such a diverse scope across our beautiful region, this is where all the action is!
It’s not a walk in the park, we require a person who has proven abilities in building corporate and business partnerships, a genuine interest in sales and a true passion for our community. As well as being super organised and switched on we’d also love to see experienced, able to deal with a very fast paced role, hardworking, talented and devoted to the list of qualities.
This is a full-time position with hours generally from Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm but the ideal candidate will be available to get involved at our events and will want to see the fantastic results of their client partnerships.
Reporting to the Manager Events & Entertainment, you will be responsible for booking new business into the GECC, attracting major conference, sporting and entertainment events to the region, as well as selling other council assets and much more.
