THE ROLE
We are seeking two experienced Nominated Supervisors who are university qualified in early childhood teaching to fill positions within the Community Connections team at Bega Valley Shire Council.
Position 1: Nominated Supervisor Southern (Permanent Full-Time) will oversee both Eden Preschool (20 place facility) and Eden Childcare Centre (39 place facility). These Centres are due to co-locate in January 2019.
Position 2: Nominated Supervisor Bandara Children’s Services Bega (12 Month Fixed Term Full Time) will oversee a 56 place facility offering preschool, long day care and after school programs. There may be a possibility of contract extension or re-advertising to a permanent role after the contracted 12 months.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Undertake overall responsibility for the day to day management of the staff and programs.
- Prepare rosters and organise replacement staff to ensure compliance with Regulations within budget allocations.
- Develop and monitor the Quality Improvement Plan in conjunction with the team.
- Drive changes and improvements to the services in accordance with the vision and strategies within the Children’s Services Action Plan.
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking energetic and motivated individuals that have a demonstrated advanced knowledge in child-related Regulations and can effectively direct and support staff to comply.
In addition you will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of best practice in early childhood education and experience mentoring Educators to deliver best practice services
- Demonstrated experience in managing, reporting and resolving complex child protection situations
- Strong skills in all aspects of human resources management, including directing and supporting teams
- Current NSW Working with Children Check

We currently have a permanent full-time position and a fixed term contract (12 months) both working 35 hours per week. Remuneration is $1420.80 per week as per the Local Government (State) Award 2017, plus 9.5 % employer superannuation contribution.
