About the Role

The role fits within the EPA’s Waste and Resource Recovery Branch and will contribute to the EPA’s responsibilities as the State’s primary environmental regulator.  This will include working with business, government and the community to identify, manage and reduce pollution as well as responding to environmental incidents and emergencies.  It will also be responsible for identifying and recommending relevant actions to address poor environmental performance of industry, the public sector, landholders and the general community to ensure the environment and human health is protected.

The successful applicant should have a good understanding of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks, and experience in resolving environment protection issues.  They will have strong self-management skill, the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and capacity to development on ground solutions to environmental issues.

The role will require overnight travel from time to time.

Primary purpose of the role:

Undertake day to day tasks relating to the application of EPA legislative responsibilities in diverse regulatory area/s, and perform other regulatory activities, as determined by EPA operational priorities.

Essential requirements

•    Broad understanding of the policies, practices and statutory requirements that support the operations of the EPA.
•    Current NSW Drivers Licence
